Technical Support Analyst Program Outline & Career Information

This IT program is extremely comprehensive and should provide successful graduates several job opportunities specifically because of the breadth of the course. Central to this programs delivery are online labs that include simulations. Hands-on labs are used throughout the program to insure the students receive and education that simulates a “real world work environment”.

The Technical Support Analyst program is a well rounded IT program providing a student with knowledge of several operating systems, PC hardware, and troubleshooting fundamentals. A core component of this course is Microsoft’s MCSE Desktop Infrastructure designation. The Technical Support Analyst leads to several certifications but the MCSE is the premier certification for professionals who analyze business requirements, and implement the infrastructure for business solutions based on the Windows® 2012 platform.

Completion of the Technical Support Analyst program and associated certifications, prepares one for typical IT duties and tasks. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Analyze the business requirements for the system architecture.
  • Design a system architecture solution that meets business requirements.
  • Deploy, install, and configure the components of the system architecture.
  • Manage the components of the system architecture on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitor and optimize the components of the system architecture.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems regarding the components of the system architecture

Exams And Certifications

When you take the Technical Systems Analyst Program there are a possible 6 certifications earned. If exams are successfully completed you could possible earn 6 designations; MCP, MCSA, MCSE, A+, Network+ and an optional CCNA (additional cost).

MCSE: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (Desktop Infrastructure)

The Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Server Infrastructure certification validates that you have the skills needed to run a highly efficient and modern data center, with expertise in identity management, systems management, virtualization, storage, and networking. Earning an MCSE: Server Infrastructure certification will qualify you for such jobs as computer support specialist and information security analyst

MCSA: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate

Show that you have the primary set of Windows Server 2012 skills, relevant across multiple solution areas in a business environment, to reduce IT costs and deliver more business value. Earning an MCSA: Windows Server 2012 certification will qualify you for a position as a network or computer systems administrator or a computer support specialist.

MCP: Microsoft Certified Professional

When you pass your first Microsoft Certification exam, you become a member of the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) community with access to all of the benefits provided through the Microsoft Certification Program and the MCP member site. You can share your transcript with others to prove that you passed that exam and show your progress towards a specific certification.

CCNA: Cisco Certified Network Associate

Validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size route and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. Students are taught the CCNA curriculum, which includes basic mitigation of security threats, introduction to wireless networking concepts and terminology, and performance-based skills, and given the option to write this certification exam.

CompTIA Network+

The Network + certification is the sign of a competent networking professional. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification that proves a technician’s competency in managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, installing and configuring basic network infrastructure.

CompTIA A+

CompTIA A+ Essentials measures the necessary competencies of an entry-level IT professional with at least 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. It tests for the fundamentals of computer technology, networking and security, as well as the communication skills and professionalism now required of all entry-level IT professionals. CompTIA A+ Practical Application is an extension of the knowledge and skills identified in CompTIA A+ Essentials, with more of a “hands-on” orientation focused on scenarios in which troubleshooting and tools must be applied to resolve problems.
